FinOps Consultant
You help clients understand where their cloud bill goes, what can be safely cut and how to structure spend commitments that maximise discounts without locking up budget.
Key responsibilities
- Audit and structure cloud spend by service, environment and business unit through precise tagging policies.
- Identify and eliminate zombie resources: orphaned volumes, stale snapshots, unassigned IPs and forgotten environments.
- Model and recommend Savings Plans, Reserved Instances and Spot / Preemptible usage strategies.
- Build executive unit-cost dashboards (cost per user, per transaction, per service) with Grafana, Infracost or Kubecost.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with AWS Cost Explorer, Google Cloud Billing or Azure Cost Management.
- Knowledge of FinOps tooling: Infracost, Kubecost or Cloud Custodian.
- Sufficient technical understanding to distinguish between compute, network and storage costs.
- Ability to present findings clearly to both technical and business audiences.
- Active freelance / self-employed status with the ability to invoice from Spain or Europe.
